Challenging times have fallen upon both education and rural America. Now is the time for dedicated and gifted professionals to serve education with passion and commitment. I am proud to be associated with a district filled with exceptional educators as we stride toward the primary goal in our district: Student Achievement. Providing each of our students with a quality education is critical for the success of the community, state, and nation. I have been serving communities and children in education for well over three decades. I have worked as a teacher, coach, building administrator and have spent the past 10 years as a superintendent. Throughout my career I have earned a Bachelor Degrees in Physical Education, and Business Education from Chadron State College, a Masters Degree from Chadron State College, a Specialist Degree from Chadron State College, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
The strength of our district is our staff and students. We are blessed with a dedicated staff that is willing to do whatever it takes for Genoa-Hugo School District to be a “School of Quality”. Every day our students are challenging themselves, and each other, to be more productive and responsible. It is great to be associated with a district that continues to make student needs the top priority.

I currently teach 5th grade at Genoa Hugo Schools. I have been teaching children for nearly 20 years . I started my career at Woodlin Schools teaching kindergarten and also taught 1st and 2nd grade in Douglas County for 6 years and have spent the last 5 years at Genoa Hugo Schools teaching 5th grade. I also spent a few years as an assistant director and teaching kindergarten at a children’s learning center in Littleton, CO.
I moved to Lincoln County in 1996 with my husband, Tim and my daughter Madison. I stayed home to raise my daughter and returned to teach in 2004.
I was raised in Haxtun, CO and have a keen interest in livestock and children. As a kid, I was very involved in 4-H. In addition, my father was an agriculture education instructor for over 33 years and thus, agriculture holds a special place in my heart.
I attended Haxtun Schools and upon graduation attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling and subsequently transferred and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Elementary Education.
