We are excited to introduce Microsoft Live@edu at our school. It’s the dependable, easy-to-use, no-cost Outlook Live email service for faculty, administrators, and students. And it’s more than just email. Live@edu includes access to other programs and services, including Windows Live SkyDrive™, that can increase our school’s ability to collaborate and communicate, including calendars, document sharing, shared workspaces, blogs, instant messaging, mobile alerts, video chat, mobile email and document access, and address books. Experience a better way to work with Live@edu.

The best feature is that you can use your email outside of school. Since it is not based on our in-house servers, you are not limited to using it at school. You also have the ability to use web-based Office applications from the email site! Next time you are checking email, look at the top of the page. There you will see a menu option for "Office". Go ahead and work with it.

First login

The first time you visit the OutlookWebApp page, use your own username@genoahugo.org and the default password. The site will ask you to create a new password. You may use your old password from your gmail@ghpirates.org account or you may create a new one.

Forward your mail from gmail

We are keeping the ghpirates.org gmail account so there will be plenty of time to make the transition. It is recommended that you begin forwarding mail from gmail to outlook ASAP!

After you have logged in to your Outlook account, you may log in to your gmail account and go to the settings option in the upper right hand corner.

Now click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP link.

Click on the radio button next to "Forward a copy of incoming mail to"

Enter your username@genoahugo.org address. It is advisable to select the option to keep a copy in the in-box.

You will be instructed to go to the Outlook site and check your in-box for a message confirming that you want to forward your mail. Click on the link in the email to do so. Now return to the gmail account.

Click on the "Verify" button and click on the radio button to begin forwarding your emails. That will complete the process. Now you may close out of gmail and begin using the Outlook web mail.
